| Well I haven't updated since Spring Break...oops. This takes too long compared to myspace. I just got back from a youth camp in Arizona!!! It was so much fun and I got to meet some amazing teens while I was there. God really spoke to me this week. Next weekend I am going with Dani to Indiana to visit her family.
Just pray for me. I have a lot on my mind...I am needing God to show me things but I guess it isn't time right now and I feel as though I am wandering until He shows me my next move.

| So it's Spring Break and I'm not doing any breaking...I have so many projects and assignments to do and it seems I'm not getting much accomplished. I came home to Texas to enjoy the warmer weather and though it is significantly warmer it has rained so much. I have a lot to think about for the next few months. Do I stay in the Recruiting Department for much longer? Do I stay in Springfield for the summer or do I come home to work? In the fall I begin my student teaching...what school would I like to do it at? I graduate in a year with a degree I am unsure I will ever really use in the United States. I have to look at my options for graduate schools. Do I want to stay in Springfield for grad school (BBC or MSU) or do I look elsewhere...South Caroline, Texas, or secular schools. I have found some information about an organization called Network of International Christian Schools. They have locations in Afghanistan, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Peru, Singapore, Suriname, and Turkey. I would really be interested in Afghanistan, Indonesia, or Turkey. It's hard sometimes to wait for God to tell me. I' m the type of person who likes to know a little bit about my future. Though I'm willing to go anywhere it's hard to wait until He decides to clue me in. Until then I'm just staying busy in the my church and going to school. It seems that is all I can do for now. | | |
| Spring Break begins tomorrow!!! YIPPEE!!!!!! I will be leaving for Texas right after chapel. I tried to update once before but the server went down when I tried to send it and I didn't want to retype everthing. Today was my last day of my Practicum in Strafford. I love my kids soooo much!!! They were wonderful and I will miss them. The teacher was amazing as well. She was a first year teacher who taught me so much about her experiences and what to expect your first year in the classroom. I taught my final lesson for Ms. Page, it was over the national, state, and local government. She said I did really well. I brought cupcakes and juice for my kids today to say good-bye. If any of you need a place to do your field experience, practicum, or student teaching...Strafford, 4th grade is the way to go. Today though I got my FIRST TICKET EVER. The officer said I was going 31 in a 20 but if any of you familiar with Strafford there is a stop sign and then a few feet away there is an extremely sharp turn. There is no way I could go that fast around that turn. Let's just say I called my mom bawling afterward and the man was mean. I have so much homework to do over the break it isn't funny. I guess that is how it goes when I only have one year left. Things go by so fast, it seems like yesterday I was moving into the dorms for the first time ever on that extremely hot Saturday morning. The good ol' days. Anyway, I pray that everyone has a safe trip and a wonderful time where ever God is taking you this Spring Break. ~mary | | |
| So it's been awhile to say the least...I have been so busy with school, work, RAness, church, and the fun stuff. Friday was the last home game and both teams lost. Afterwards I played dodgeball, which was a lot of fun. Then Emma and I went to Taco Bell and the guy was totally embarrassing me in a room full of Evangel and CBC students...and Emma wasn't helping me out at all...she was encouraging it. Well it snowed a lot this past weekend but it is mostly gone now. On Sunday I helped paint the college class that was so much fun! During the evening service we voted on whether or not to have Brian Grey be our co-pastor and he needed 75% of the vote, but he didn't get it...most of us were very surprised. God on the other hand knows exactly what is to come out of the situation. Today was my first day of practicum in Strafford, Missouri. I have 4th grade and they are so great. Megan has the other 4th grade class so we get to see each other when they switch and eat lunch together. My teacher is so nice and today was her birthday. They sang her birthday rap that was so funny. Well that is all I have today but hopefully I can fill you in more later. | | |
| So this week has been eventful to say the least. We had Presidential Lectures, which I like because regular classes are cancelled but this time I much rather be in regular classes and that is ALL I'm going to say. This weekend we had the projector and we watched Just Like Heaven and Elizabethtown on Friday night. Friday was also the basketball game....they won by one point...it was such a good game!!! Saturday I slept in until 11...which I never do. Then went to lunch and then spent the afternoon lounging with Dani until she went to work. A group of us watched The Legend of Zoro in the gym. It was a really good guy/girl movie...everyone enjoyed it. Homework was on the back burner this weekend. Today Brian Grey preached on the three parables in Luke 15 both in the morning and evening. He did an amazing job...I have read and heard that scripture sooo many times but not in the same perspective. I didn't go to lunch with my adopted family because we had to clean out our classroom so we can start painting it. This week then ended up going to Red Lobster... :( ...and next weekend they will be out of town so no Nakatos next week. Oh well...they spoil me anyway!!! After church tonight I decided to go to Churchills and studied and did some homework...it was great...I might make that a weekly endevour...who knows...well night xanga land...until next time :) ~mary | | |
